The Build, Bail & Sail is an annual event on the Sunday of the August long weekend in Nakusp. Loma Lumber is proud to coordinate and sponsor the popular event that sees two-person teams create a boat (and paddles!) from materials available at Loma Lumber, to a limit of $85. We supply all materials, so there is no cost to the competitors. As for design, anything goes - just hope it floats!

The teams build their boats from 9 a.m - 12:30 p.m., using hand tools and cordless tools. Spectators can wander around and look at each team's efforts and make their predictions for the race.

Racing starts at 1 p.m. at the Nakusp public beach. Teams race their boats around a buoy, then the teammates switch positions and race past the next buoy to the finish at the beach.

This event is lots of fun for the participants and the spectators. A limit of 12 teams can enter, so register early!
